Colombo district (police divisions): 

Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bloemandahl, Kotahena, Grandpass, Coastal, Aduruppu Weediya, Maligawatta, Dematogoda, Wellampitiya, Borella and Keselwatta. 

Gampaha district (police divisions): 

Wattala, Peliyagoda, Kadawatha, Ragama, Negambo, Pamunuwa, Jaela, Sapugaskanda

Kalutara district:

Horana, Ingiriya (police divisions) and Wekada West Grama Niladhari Division

Kurunegala district: 

Kurunegala Municipal Council area, Kuliyapitiya police divisions

Kegalla district: 

Mawanella, Ruwanwella (police divisions)

COVID-19 spread from Minuwangoa cluster has declned.

Acting Deputy Director General of Health Services Dr. Hemantha Herath said that the COVID-19 spread in the country from Minuwangoa cluster has declined. 

He said that the situation would be controlled in the coming few days. 

However, it will take a long time to come back to normalcy, he said.

He expected the cases found in Gampaha district would gradually decline.

Sweet pineapple; market place specially for the fruit in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Ministry of Economic Development has decided to establish a pineapple market in Gampaha district.

The Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa revealed this as he met the pineapple traders on Colombo - Kandy road.

On this road, pineapple shops spread in a two kilometer stretch from Balummahara junction towards Kandy. Many of these shops are to be removed from the present places with the highway development.

Gampaha is the major pineapple growing district of Sri Lanka where the cultivation is spread in 1,998 hectares. The second major cultivator of pineapple is Kurunegala district. Sri Lanka has cultivated pineapple in 5211 hectares.

In 2012, Sri Lanka exported 476 metric tons of pineapple worth of Rs. 193 million, the Minister said.

Sri Lanka ruling coalition headquarters in Gampaha, a symbol of Basil's power

Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa declared open a new district headquarters of the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) in Gampaha district at 9.30 a.m. yesterday.

The headquarters located in Gampaha town is expected to benefit the UPFA members of the Gampaha district.

It was built according to a concept of the Gampaha district chief organizer Basil Rajapaksa, the younger brother of the President and the Minister of Economic Development. The building is a symbol of his power and ambitions.

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa laid foundation stone for the construction of the building on November 01, 2010.
The UPFA headquarters of Gampaha district is the first district headquarters building of the ruling coalition.
